For Campers, independent travellers or overland companies, the Wildlife Campsite has been a haven for many years. It is set away from the main lodge in a prime position on the banks of the Luangwa River. The camp is complete with grassy areas, shady trees, thatched shelters and one of the best views in the Luangwa Valley! The Warthogs bar and swimming pool is the best place to spend the hot hours of the day.
As close as you can get to the wild
At night the camp also plays host to a variety of game – many people have been left amazed by lion footprints merely meters away from their tents or elephant dung in the footpath between their cars and the bar. The resident leopard does let you hear when she is around, but is not keen on being seen.
Camp Facilities
The campsite has ablution blocks with hot showers and fresh drinking water, thatched shelters for both Over landers and private campers, power points, a bar and a swimming pool. We also sell firewood here in camp. The campsite is patrolled by night watchmen.
A quintessential bush experience
Even with all these amenities, the emphasis at Wildlife Camp is still on a bush experience. We regulate the number of guests in the campsite and booking beforehand is important. We do accept walk-in guests, but cannot ensure availability during the busy season.
